Saturday 18th -leaving Honolulu

 Saturday

Hard to believe it’s our last day. One last walk along our beach. Watched the fish and the birds vying for the bread that people were throwing in the water.

Took the bus to Haleiwa, an historic town at North Shore. It was lovely to see that part of the island… quite agricultural..  Passed a pineapple plantation and visitor centre?? We also passed fields of maize and  coffee plantations. I learned that coffee is a major cash crop. Very few animals to be seen apart from the feral chickens which run wild all over the region much to Paul’s delight!

On the way back from North Shore we called into the Pearl Harbour museum… it was really interesting and we could have done with getting there earlier.

Had supper in The Peace Cafe… and then legged it to collect our bags from storage … got there just in time.

Took the bus to the airport …

Fiji airport here we come

Yummy food from the Peace Cafe
